Our Vision

To feed our community — body, mind & spirit.

For us, that’s more than a phrase on a wall. It’s why our doors are open, our lights are on all week, and our building is rarely empty.

A church isn’t only a place people come to on Sunday — it’s a place that gives itself away to the neighborhood all week long. For more than 180 years, Beaverton First has tried to be a centering place for this community: somewhere people are fed, welcomed, taught, and sent back out a little more whole than they came in.

Feed the body

Nobody goes hungry here.

Faith that doesn’t feed people is just talk. Our Free Food Market, in partnership with the Oregon Food Bank, is open to anyone who needs it — no income verification, no questions, no shame.

Our adult ESL classes help newcomers find their footing, and we partner across Beaverton to support children and youth facing hunger and housing insecurity. This is love with its sleeves rolled up.

Feed the mind

Big ideas belong to everyone.

A healthy community needs space to wrestle with big ideas, hear different perspectives, and grow. That conviction is why we launched the Beaverton Lecture Series, bringing respected thinkers and changemakers to town for evenings of ideas, perspectives, and community.

Our sanctuary hosts concerts, our walls hold the Beaverton Art Market, and our tables are as ready for a hard conversation as a shared meal.

Feed the spirit

Everyone belongs at the table.

At the center of it all is the conviction that every person is loved and made for belonging. As a Reconciling Congregation, we mean everyone — every age, background, ability, race, and identity is welcome here, and welcome at the table.

You don’t have to believe the right things, dress the right way, or have it all figured out to be fed here. Open hearts, open minds, open doors.

A centering place

Room for the whole community.

Walk through our building on a given week and you’ll find far more than a congregation — recovery groups, community meetings, other ministries, and nonprofit partners who need a home base for their good work. We open our space on purpose, because our building is a community asset held in trust, not a private clubhouse.

When another organization is feeding, teaching, or serving Beaverton, we’d rather hand them a key than compete for attention. If your ministry, nonprofit, or group needs a place to gather, let’s talk.

Ask About Using Our Space

Why we do this

“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”

John Wesley

Because we follow Jesus, who fed crowds, welcomed outsiders, and measured love by how we treat “the least of these.” Because grace is something you can’t keep for yourself — it’s only real when it’s given away. A community fed in body, mind, and spirit is what God’s love looks like with an address.

Come be part of it.

There’s a place for you here — as a neighbor, a guest, a volunteer, or a partner.
